Faux fur is making an appearance in bridal collections – especially on accessories – while feathers are the hot ticket on everything from new season Jimmy Choos to frothy skirts, ruffs and cuffs. So enjoy the chance to add a luxurious outer layer to your wedding ensemble. The trick is not to take things too seriously. After all, we all love to shake a tailfeather.

1. Cosy up

Halfpenny London’s Gillian Goat Coat with ebony wedding gown creates a cosy profile and we just love the combination of luxe textures.

2. Shake those feathers

Feathers make great accents on a wedding gown. Pronovias goes for the pared-back approach, adding elegant feathered cuffs to a simple long-sleeve design with sexy front split.

3. Scarlet glamour

Jenny Packham’s latest bridal collection includes this stunning gown – daring not just for its fabulous plunge neck and red colourway, but for its standout-glamorous feathered sleeves.

4. I Choo!

From the latest Jimmy Choo collection, these dreamy Viola shoes studded with crystals feature flamboyant ostrich feathers as a final flourish.

5. Fur baby

Otaduy snuggles up with a distinctly 1970s vibe in this Beyoncé jacket and sweet furry clutch from the Little White Dress Collection.

6. Bird of paradise

Savin London wowed the catwalk crowds at the White Gallery London show with this stunning full-skirted wedding gown dressed with fabulous feathers and topped with a glittering bodice. Frivolous and oh so glamorous, it’s a perfect ensemble for the bride who wants to nail the exotic bird of paradise look.

7. Maribou bride

Charlotte Balbier’s Sparrow is a sleeveless scene stealer featuring Maribou feathers. From her incredibly versatile separates collection, it’s shown here with Cressy topper and Saint skirt.

8. Boho beauty

Perfect for the boho bride, Temperley London’s glamorous feathered cape is worn here with Lucie dress and Beatrice belt.

9. Feathers that fly

Feathers add a fabulous sense of drama and movement, especially when you have a strong colour contrast as with this fabulous black floorlength coat worn with a gossamer-light white gown. Both pieces by Ulyana Sergeenko Couture.
