Wedding belts are big news on the catwalk, with everything from waist-enhancing statement pieces to, bejewelled focal points and bold bows. What we love about the trend for wedding belts is that it’s a great way to inject your personal style into even the plainest white gown. Here are some catwalk styles to inspire you

The bold colour pop

Adding a colour pop to your wedding-day ensemble is a great way to introduce an individual twist – and you can also use it to introduce matching accents across all of your accessories or pick up on your wedding theme colours. Here, Jesus Peiró goes for a stunning turquoise-encrusted design, while Patricia Avendaño adds a bolder metallic hue, picking up on the coppery tones of a layered train.

The standout bow

Bow belts are a key trend for wedding gowns – and so versatile. A lightweight belt combined with an ethereal gown – as with this Jesus Peiró dress (left) – adds a decadent flourish. But the effect is pure 1950s chic when paired with a more tailored look, as with Justin Alexander’s elegant silk ballgown (right).

Bejewelled belts are one of the most versatile of all styles – and justly popular among brides because these glittering additions can be co-ordinated easily with other bridal accessories – and you get a fabulous accessory to wear for parties after the big day.
