The new Pronovias collection has been captured beautifully in a photo shoot and film under the direction of Miguel Reveriego with the theme of Wild Love in East Africa
Pronovias is known the world over for its glamorous and elegant bridal gowns, and its 2018 campaign taps into this spirit of romance perfectly.
Wild Love in East Africa was shot on location in the savannah of Kenya by photographer Miguel Reveriego, a Spanish talent well-known for his creative work in international editions of Vogue. The shoot and accompanying short film stars models Hanna Verhees and Mihaly Martins. Showcasing the fantastic light and vistas of East Africa, it offers a nod to classic movies and conjures up a spirit of freedom and new beginnings.
Against this magical African backdrop, the campaign features just some of the highlights in the new Atelier Pronovias and Pronovias 2018 collections. As photos and film show, this is a vintage year, with curve-enhancing silhouettes and lavish combinations of materials, including beautiful silks, delicate lace and sheers. Gemstone hand embroidery and fabulous fringes are among the glittering embellishments on these gowns.
As ever with Pronovias, it’s all in the fine details and you will find a lightness of touch to make gowns both flattering and comfortable to wear. There are fabulous off-the-shoulder designs, split skirts with delicate lace and gauze godets and gowns featuring top to toe buttons. We love the addition of clever features to flatter the wearer and add a versatile edge to take a gown from ceremony to evening party. These include detachable cap sleeves and overskirts and glamorous capes. Hervé Moreau, Pronovias creative director, places great emphasis on both comfort and form, so these are also gowns that make the wearer feel every inch the beautiful bride.
For anyone inspired to set out on their own African adventure – and this does look the perfect spot for a honeymoon – the photos and film were shot on location at Segera Retreat, a luxury and sustainable safari and adventure destination located between Mount Kenya and the Great Rift Valley. The crew was ably supported by Wilderness Safaris, one of Africa’s foremost ecotourism companies.
