Emmy London is always a go-to if you want a pair of heirloom-quality bridal or party shoes that offer timeless style with contemporary details. And this year’s Meadow Dreaming collection offers rich pickings, whether you’re after edgy stilettos, glam kitten heels or the perfect pair of flat sandals.

Emmy was inspired by her love of the English countryside for this new collection, and there’s a definite air of whimsy about some of the shoes and bags.

While whites and ivories are firmly in the mix, we love the addition of black to this new collection – perfect for the bride who wants a colour contrast (or who isn’t wearing white) and glamorous enough to wear for any black-tie ball after the big day. Meadow is made to order and is available in black, alongside a gorgeous dusky rose and a pure white. In all cases, a matching clutch makes this the perfect set. The fine embellishment offers a veritable flower garden on each handmade piece.

For something entirely different, we love the new Iris slingback, featuring an innovative slash and twist decoration in gold around the shoe – a highly complex technique that results in a standout design that shimmers and catches the light.

The Iris is made of butter-soft ivory suede and lined with gold metallic leather. Gold leather also features on the heels and straps. We love the edgy pointed toe, a nod to 1950s style but with a contemporary feel that would work really well with this season’s graphic lace gowns or edgy bridal pants.

For something a little softer, we love Rose Kitten, which features flattering slim straps and gold heel and trim. Again the soft Italian suede and leather makes this low heel extremely comfortable to wear, while the straps add stability and show off a well-turned ankle. As with many shoes in the Emmy London collection, Rose Kitten can be dyed after your wedding.

Another standout shoe from the Meadow Dreaming collection is Almondine, a classic design featuring Emmy London’s signature Deco-inspired embellishment. This features a new embroidery technique for the incredibly detailed trims. All shoes are handstitched and combine metallic gold thread, mirror-glass circles and tiny gold beads. The whole effect is stunning, giving you a glittering sandal that will shimmer and reflect the light. With its dramatic detailing, this shoe would be the perfect foil to one of this season’s ultra simple sheath gowns.
