Be it tipi, village hall or grand hotel, there’s no stopping brides and grooms from embracing festival style. Here are nine magical wedding moments captured by some of our favourite photographers, proving that true love and fiesta go together like balloon and bunting
Sabrina and Peter
Sabrina and Peter were married in London with a fabulous wedding party at Claridges hotel in Brook Street. Photographer John Nassari captured the moment when their guests lined up after the service to shower the newly minted Mr and Mrs with enormous amounts of confetti. johnnassari.co.uk
Alex and Matt
Alex and Matt held their wedding in Abersoch on the North Wales coast. The festival style affair was held in a giant Sperry tent and included fireworks in the evening and sea swimming the next day. Victoria and Michael
Victoria and Michael hosted a wedding fête in Great Bardfield, Essex, complete with gin and prosecco wagon and sporting challenges such as splat the rat, limbo and tug-of-war. While no quidditch was in the mix, the couple obligingly posed for photographer Ben Bull in the fête’s Hogwarts Photo Booth. benbull.net
Charlie and Tom
A sharing platter grill menu, giant balloons and dancing were all part of the flavour at Charlie and Tom’s wedding at Festival Hall, a former dance venue in Alderley Edge. Charlie’s silk crêpe gown was by Village Bride, Marple Bridge, and instead of a veil, she chose super-glamorous pearl-encrusted braids. onloveandphotography.com
Rochan and Xeco
So what happens when two photographers get married? Rochan and Xeco chose to tie the knot at SNAP, the annual wedding photographers’ festival at Fforest camp, West Wales organised by London-based wedding photographer Laura Babb. One couple plus 110 cameras guaranteed a true paparazzi experience down the aisle. whitesmokestudio.pl
Gemma and Richard
It was a timeless village wedding for Gemma and Richard, who took over the local village hall for a party with family and friends, complete with bunting, cottage-garden flowers and delicious homemade food and cakes. Bride, groom and all the guests insisted on having their photos taken with the fake moustaches given as party favours. onloveandphotography.com
Cassy and Mark
Cassy and Mark were married at Luton Hoo, where they made a festival weekend of it for their guests, with barbeque, afternoon tea and golf in the day and wedding dance at Warren Weir in the evening. After the live music, they had a silent disco so the party could go on even longer into the night. The bride’s fabulous gown is by Pronovias. johnnassari.co.uk
Emma and Matthew
Choosing Beaconside House, North Devon as their venue, Emma and Matthew held a full-on festival. Emma, who is a celebrant herself and runs Best Day Ever Ceremonies added in lots of quirky details, including a wonderful wedding ceremony in the woods.
