One of the capital’s most exciting new bridal labels, Savin London has just opened its flagship boutique in the heart of Greenwich
[dropcap]B[/dropcap]rides looking for a quintessentially London label for their wedding gown have a new shopping destination in the heart of Greenwich, where Savin London’s flagship boutique has just opened. Russian-born owner and designer of the Savin London label Andrey Savin – an alumnus of London College of Fashion – was looking for something very special as a showcase for his timeless and opulent gowns. He found it in one of the most historic quarters of the capital.
A devotee of all things London – including its design and architectural history – Andrey says: “The building is a perfect example of Georgian architecture within Maritime Greenwich, in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site”. Located in Turnpin Lane, close to the National Maritime Museum, Old Royal Naval College and Cutty Sark this quaint restored street just oozes London history and style.
Previously, brides-to-be visited Savin London’s atelier, and this new boutique will offer a luxurious and discreet setting for viewing and trying on the whole collection. You can even travel to Greenwich by water taxi.
Savin London was established in 2013 – read more about the background to the label. Its focus on local sourcing and craftsmanship, and in-house approach to all stages of designing and making wedding gowns, set it apart from many other labels. Absolutely Weddings are also huge fans of its edgy-meets-timeless design aesthetic.
This same edgy-meets-timeless spirit is captured in the interior of the Savin London boutique – bold and vibrant and with interesting furniture and period details. Andrey says: “I think of this store as a unique private fitting room where we will be able to showcase our latest collections and create the most beautiful dresses”.
Andrey has also relocated the atelier – where all his gowns are designed and made – to this historic borough just across the Thames from Canary Wharf. So now Savin London gowns can justifiably bear the label Made in Greenwich, alongside Made in London. Andrey says: “It is a very exciting step in our brand development and reflects our values, our sense of style and appreciation for quality and craftsmanship”.
Savin London is located at 13 Turnpin Lane, London, SE10. For more information about the collection and to book a bridal appointment, contact [email protected]
