One of our favourite new London designers Sanyukta Shrestha is hosting a special sale event this week at her Fulham atelier, so it’s a great opportunity to bag yourself a bargain from her delicious couture and made-to-order wedding and occasion ranges. Born in Nepal and trained at London College of Fashion, Sanyukta Shrestha is making a name for glamorous pieces that are both beautifully made and sustainably produced.
Her style is timeless and sophisticated, and with some very different pieces in the mix. So this is a designer worth checking out if you are a bride to be who wants something a little different – for instance, separates, colours other than white or a sexy silk jumpsuit. Of course, there are also plenty of elegant gowns in her repertoire.
Sanyukta believes bridal and occasion pieces should feel as good to wear as they look, so you will find Fairtrade and sustainable fabrics such as bamboo, Khadi cotton and hemp, alongside ethically produced silks. She works closely with artisans and villagers in her native Nepal to ensure the timeless craft weaving skills she grew up with survive.
Feelgood pieces aren’t just for brides – this is a great place to find stunning occasion pieces for honeymooners too. Pieces from her collections can be made to order specially for you or you can opt for a totally bespoke garment, a one-off created in consultation with the designer and made using traditional couture techniques.
