Yardsmen is a go-to for grooms who are looking for Savile Row-quality suits to hire or buy for their wedding day – and this is also a great choice if you want to ensure your groomsmen match you in the sartorial stakes
Yardsmen is a go-to for grooms looking for Savile Row-style for the male members of the wedding party. Offering bespoke tailoring and RTW, it’s also a great choice for suit hire, whether you’re in the market for classic morning wear or want to outfit your team in Bond-style DJs or impeccably cut lounge suits.
It can be no mean feat to gather together your team for fittings, so if you’re hiring Yardsmen offers online bookings. Of course, the best way to ensure the suit fits and flatters the wearer is to schedule a face-to-face appointment at Yardsmen’s Waterloo shop to get a free consultation on the cut and colour that will ensure you all triumph in the style stakes.
All Yardsmen’s suits offer classically understated silhouettes and materials – made with traditional British pure wool cloths sourced direct from the mills in the time-honoured way. You can add in elegant finishing touches, such as the perfect single or double-breasted waistcoat.
Alongside hire, you have the opportunity to invest in a bespoke suit. Traditional fine wool cloth and tailoring is the order of the day and you can choose from a carefully curated selection of colours and patterns, including ‘technical’ cloths – the latest crop of brilliant British weaves incorporating water-resistant technologies. Every bespoke suit will be perfectly tailored around your style and the occasion.
Yardsmen also offers a collection of ready-to-wear wool suits. Classic and understated, but featuring contemporary detailing, you’ll find lounge suits, DJs and morning wear, plus a competitive alterations services by the team’s in-house tailors.
Accessories are one of the best ways to personalise your wedding-day style – also a great way to ensure your groomsmen look like a team. Yardsmen’s grooms’ accessories collection includes ties, perfect pocket squares and cufflinks in an array of colours and styles. The Waterloo store is the best place to explore the collection and the team of consultants can help you source the right look to complement wedding colours and the occasion.
You’ll also find suits in the mix (to hire or buy) to set you up for almost any social or work event – from a day at the races or red-carpet gala to that super-important business pitch.
Yardsmen hire – how it works
For the very best fit and personal service, you’re advised to book an appointment and visit the Waterloo store – it’s open six days a week and with late opening on two evenings.
Of course, some or all of the wedding party might not be able to make a face-to-face visit. If so, Yardsmen offers a simple and effective online ordering system. You simply select your chosen garment, key in personal measurements (there’s a handy video to help with this or you can contact the store for advice), place your order and your suit will be dispatched for you to try.
Returns are equally simple – you can return direct to store or use the store’s courier return service. The normal suit hire period is five days, but extended-hire options are available for destination weddings – you can even get suits couriered to your wedding location.
As with any suit hiring or buying process, try to to plan ahead – Yardsmen recommend you book an appointement to choose your suits as soon as the date of the wedding is confirmed. A minimum of eight weeks is needed to ensure all hire orders can be fulfilled (more is always useful if you have a large or diverse group to outfit). But if yours is a romantic last-minute wedding, give the store a call and they will do their best to ensure you and your party are perfectly turned out on the day.
