Suzanne Neville has been a go-to for elegant bridal and eveningwear since the early 1990s. Her latest collection includes her signature impeccable cut and construction, and features some bold surprises in the mix
Suzanne Neville has carved a stellar reputation for impeccable glamour gowns. A graduate of the London College of Fashion, she sold her entire first collection to Harrods and, from there, swiftly rose to become a go-to designer for luxurious wedding and occasion pieces.
Her label’s famous clients include the renowned mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins – reputed to have one of the finest collections of Suzanne Neville evening gowns – Anna Friel and Geri Halliwell. And there are countless brides over the years who have played their own starring role to perfection wearing Suzanne Neville.
All Suzanne Neville gowns are designed and made in Britain using traditional techniques and she has a hands-on approach to each stage of design and construction. Her workshop on the outskirts of London is where a close-knit team create dream gowns for brides and occasion goers.
Suzanne Neville’s 2017 Portrait collection has all the hallmarks you would expect, including impeccable cut and corsetry, fine fabrics and exquisite hand detailing. But this is a diverse collection with both classic shapes and more form-fitting designs in the mix. For instance, Salvador is a streamlined design that features illusion panelling, fine beading and beautiful covered-button detailing at the back of the gown.
Standout pieces in the collection include the Rembrandt – a perfect contemporary take on wedding attire that would take you effortlessly to a ballroom celebration. While the form of the gown is quite traditional, the exquisite colour (covering off the ‘something blue’) and fine detailing would ensure a flattering colour pop for the bride who doesn’t want to wear conventional neutrals, or likes the idea of changing from ethereal pales to a bolder style for the evening party.
Tuning into the trend for separates, Suzanne Neville has created her own inimitable take on the look with the Miro, comprising a flattering bralet with beaded overtop and a waist-enhancing full skirt. The design would be perfect for a high-summer or destination wedding and, as with all her designs, offers lots of options to customise the look to suit your style and occasion.
High glamour is always in the mix, and the Paganini includes all the elements you need to shine on the day – glorious texture, incredible structure to create curves in all the right places and a flirty fishtail effect to the skirt. We love the flattering cap sleeve and on-trend high-neckline effect created by the fine lace detailing
Of course, no Suzanne Neville collection would be without the classics – the quintessentially romantic English gowns she designs to perfection. We love the simplicity and elegance of Angelico, which features a super-flattering flowing skirt with a beautifully detailed bodice.
Suzanne Neville has two showrooms where you can see the entire bridal and occasion collection – one in Beauchamp Place, Knightsbridge and the other in Wilmslow, Cheshire. You will also find her designs in select bridal boutiques across the UK, with international stockists in France, the US, UAE and Japan.
Brides to be in the Middle East also have the opportunity to meet the team from Suzanne Neville and see the new collection designs up close at the forthcoming Quintessentially Atelier, taking place at St Regis, Dubai from 17th-19th November.
