While Claire Pettibone has always been known for a romantic design aesthetic, her latest Timeless Collection takes ethereal bridal style to new heights
LA-based designer Claire Pettibone has always been known for upping the ante when it comes to ultimate romantic gowns, but she has excelled herself with the latest Timeless collection, which features exquisite lace, ethereal and floaty fabrics and the kind of elegance that conjures up an Edwardian ballroom.
Pettibone grew up in upstate New York in a home filled with antiques and art and – as daughter of two artists – a creative career seemed a natural next step. After attending Otis Parsons in LA, she established her company in 1994, in the same year she and her husband Guy Toley were married. This remains a family business. Initially the company focused on lingerie, but bridal was added in 2005. The Claire Pettibone bridal look has been hugely influential for its whimsical aesthetic and exquisite details.
Appropriately, Claire Pettibone’s flagship and HQ is in an LA landmark building known has The Castle. While her roots are now West Coast, she returned to New York Bridal Market to showcase Timeless in a beautiful townhouse setting dressed by the best. Here are some of our favourite images captured by the brilliant photographer Sophie Kaye.
