Go behind the scenes at luxury wedding venue Wickham House by tuning into the C4 documentary The Job Interview
[dropcap]H[/dropcap]ere’s your chance to go behind the scenes at Berkshire luxury wedding venue Wickham House, which features in the first episode of C4’s The Job Interview. The series is focused around the nitty gritty of job interviews, with a fly-on-the-wall approach to understanding the real-world recruitment process. Covering everything from first handshake to job offer, it also shows real candidates battling it out to further their careers and land that dream job.
Philippa D’Arcy, owner of this delightful family home, which was recently launched as an exclusive-hire wedding and events venue says: “It’s been a thrill to take part in such an exciting new television show and I’m delighted to have been chosen for the inaugural episode. I have a long track record of interviewing so am at ease sitting across the table from candidates. We found an excellent recruit through the process, so all in all it was worth all the effort and the hours of filming”.
In the programme, Philippa – along with daughter Bertie – are on the hunt for a deputy venue manager for the late 18th Century Georgian manor house which first opened its doors in autumn 2015. Their interview process takes place in London and at Wickham House, where glimpses of the property’s luxurious spaces are caught on camera.
Wickham House is located in 52 acres, with beautifully landscaped grounds, charming village church and elegant newly built barn.
In her former career as a leading City headhunter, Philippa conducted over 1,000 job interviews, retiring in 2013 after 32 years at the helm of the Rose Partnership to focus on running her events business at Wickham House.

Going behind the scenes with leading lights in the bridal business seems to be a new trend in British TV. Last autumn, London bridal designer Caroline Castigliano appeared in another C4 documentary called How the Other Half Wed, which followed brides through the journey of choosing the perfect couture gown.
