While all weddings are romantic, right now portraits of couples who have tied the knot make our hearts sing. Here are eight dreamy photos to capture the magic of two people, one heart, one day
Words: Libby Norman
Romantic is the word everyone uses about weddings, but right now portraits of happy couples who have tied the knot make our hearts sing. Quite right too, since recent times have put incredible obstacles in the way of weddings. If anything, this makes the wedding portraits even more romantic than usual. Here are eight dreamy shots that symbolise the spirit of love, all captured by some of the UK’s most talented wedding photographers.
Amy & Jordan
Professional boxer Jordan and Amy tied the knot at Swynford Manor, near Newmarket with family and friends. While this was a midwinter celebration the light was just perfect, captured beautifully in this portrait by Ben Bull. We love the bride’s glamorous pearl headband and romantic off-the-shoulder gown. Georgie & Miles
Miles and Georgie were married at Queen’s Chapel in central London, with a beautiful and intimate ceremony in this beautiful and historic setting attended by their very closest family. Tara Moller captured the joy as bride and groom celebrated being wed. Photo: taramoller.com
Kate & Mark
For Kate and Mark there was a glorious ceremony and after party at Hales Hall & Great Barn in Norfolk, an opportunity to celebrate among friends and family in its delightful gardens. One of the most magical moments was when guests lit sparklers to mark the day, a moment beautifully frozen in time by Andy Davidson. haleshall.com & photo: andydavison.com
Lauren & Luke
Lauren and Luke were married in mid-autumn, just as the leaves were starting to fall, with glorious sunshine signalling their newly-married status – the perfect backdrop for their light-filled photoshoot in the gardens of Sissons Barn, Cambridgeshire. Photo: benbull.net
Jason & Craig
Jason and Craig made it official at romantic Langley Castle, near Hexham in Northumberland at one of its special ‘two-become-one’ intimate celebrations. Diane Makepeace captured idyllic moments around the historic castle and its woodland grounds, including this lovely shot of the couple getting ready. langleycastle.co.uk & photo: dianemakepeacephotography.com
Lucy & Tom
Lucy and Tom chose the day before New Year’s Eve for their celebration, but the weather proved mild and they were able to take a turn round the grounds of Hatfield House for some wonderful photos among the parterre hedges and herbs before the sun went down and the after-party proper started. Polly & Will
Will and Polly had a classic London ceremony at Chelsea Old Town Hall, emerging into the brilliant July sunlight to be greeted with cheers and lots of confetti. There was a wonderful relaxed flavour to the day, as they headed on for an intimate family garden party to celebrate. Photo: taramoller.com
Diana & Matt
Baby and dog came too when Diana and Matt celebrated their wedding at Holkham Hall in Norfolk in an intimate celebration with their families. They were captured in a series of lovely portraits by Kathy Ashdown framed against Holkham’s dreamy classical temple. holkham.co.uk & photo: katherineashdown.co.uk
