Sun, sand and weddings are a match made in heaven – who doesn’t get into party mood at the seaside? So whether it’s the turquoise waters of the Aegean, the cool glamour of Oz or the breezy and beautiful British shore, our Absolutely Weddings Beach Style wedding album is pure ozone magic
Words by Libby Norman
Beach style weddings are deservedly popular – we all love a trip to the seaside and a wedding on the shore puts everybody into holiday mood. Whether your taste is a tropical or sun-baked paradise, or you prefer a spot of wild nature or kiss me quick on the British shore, there’s no shortage of destinations where you can create a unique and magical celebration.
Olivia and Oliver
Choosing The Gallivant as their venue gave Olivia and Oliver the chance to feel sand between their toes. The chic East Sussex wedding venue overlooking Camber Sands just outside Rye has been named one of the UK’s coolest beach hotels by The Times. davidlong.tv and thegallivant.co.uk
Lauren and Jake
Lauren and Jake picked Sianji Well-Being Resort in Turgutreis, Bodrum for its amazing grounds and views over the Aegean. Guests flew in to share the sunshine and the ceremony took place in the gardens overlooking that turquoise ocean. Their dreamy destination wedding was captured by photographer Mustafa Ecre Santırcı. @visionstudiodidim
Marie and George
Marie and George chose the magical Greek island of Santorini for their glamorous wedding and were photographed by John Nassari sitting down for dinner at what can only be described as the best seats in the house at luxe retreat Ambassador Aegean Luxury Hotel & Suites Santorini. johnnassari.co.uk
Katie and Paul
Wedding or not, everyone needs an ice cream at the beach and newly minted Katie and Paul took time out from their wedding at the fantastic St Ives estate and hotel Carbis Bay to do the honours. Iconik Photography (also a husband and wife team) captured this sweet moment for the album. iconik-photography.com and carbisbayhotel.co.uk
Megan and Andrew
Andrew and Megan held their wedding celebration at The Arcadia, a delightful event space in Portrush. It was a classic and timeless seaside location, so photographer Fraser Stewart had to capture a shot or two on this awesome stretch of Ireland’s coastline. fraserstewartphotography.co.uk
Moira and Daniel
Moira and Daniel held their wedding at the Rosevine, located on the Roseland Peninsula near Truro, Cornwall. The early autumn weather delivered blustery winds straight off the Atlantic, but bride and groom were undaunted and still headed down to the surf to drink in an ozone moment. taramoller.zenfolio.com
Jessica and Anthony
Jessica and Anthony chose Gibraltar for their wedding, a romantic ceremony and celebration taking in some of the Rock’s best beauty spots. The bride – who is originally from Australia – flew the flag by wearing a chic gown by Oz brand Cooper St because it made her feel a little closer to home. davidbiasiphotography.com
Stephanie and Richard
It was the beautiful Jersey shore (Channel Islands) for Stephanie and Richard, who were married at Grouville Church and held their reception at St Ouen’s Bay, taking time during the day to capture some pictures on the shore with photographer Andy Le Gresley. andylegresleyweddings.com
Katie and Phil
If you’re looking for peerless beaches then Australia is it. Katie and Phil were married in the New South Wales town of Byron Bay, holding a chilled ceremony on its endless white sand beach. Photographer Tara Moller captured the magic of this cool sunshine wedding, where the bridal party wore their finery with flip-flops. taramoller.zenfolio.com
